Ranges of exhaled breath (EB) temperature, humidity and end tidal carbon dioxide (CO2) in a community-based cohort in India.

Background: Exhaled breath analysis has emerged as a non-invasive tool for assessing lung health. Exhaled breath temperature and relative humidity can provide valuable insights into the lung health.

Objective: We aimed to derive the ranges of exhaled breath temperature, humidity and end tidal CO2 obtained in adult, Indian cohort.

Feasibility of Noninvasive Glucose Monitoring Using a Handheld Device

The amount and rate of CO2 produced versus O2 consumed, called respiratory quotient (RQ), indicates the type and quantity of metabolic substrate utilized by the body and may be used as a marker of blood glucose estimation. We developed a hand-held device (Breath-AI V3) that measured end tidal breath CO2 along with a finger pulse sensor that captured heart rate and derived oxygen consumption, and built algorithms to explore its potential to estimate blood sugar levels.

Startup Mantra: Track your overall health with Breath AI

Sanjay Phadke and his team have developed a tech platform called Breath AI, which includes a wrist wearable equipped with sensors to monitor breath composition, heart rate variability, and other biomarkers. The platform aims to provide a comprehensive picture of an individual's health status and offer personalized breath-work approaches to improve health and well-being. Breath AI has partnered with institutions such as Kaivalyadhama, IISER, IIT Bombay, Harvard Medical School, and Monash University for research and trials. The company plans to expand into markets like Australia, Japan, Europe, and the US.
